Tournament Awards Based on 40 Teams, Optional Jackpots Based on 30 Teams
Winners will be awarded all Tournament cash prizes based on most points accumulated according to the scoring formula described herein. A penalty for weighing undersize fish will be assessed and teams can receive 90 points for a fish that does not meet the weight requirement but does meet or exceed the 84-inch rule as described herein. Without exception, once boated, a fish is required to be weighed at the official weight station. A single team can claim only one of the three regular "cash prize places." In the event of a tie, places involved will divide prizes evenly. All cash prizes are based on entrant quotas. First through third place cash prizes will be calculated as a percentage of total entry fees as follows: first 25 teams; 45% to first place; 21% to second place and 9% to third place. If there should be more than 25 teams then those team’s entry fees will be added to the respective cash prizes as follows; 40% to first place; 20% to second place and 8% to third place. All Regular Cash Prizes and Daily Jackpots are based on entrant quotas.
Optional Daily Jackpots with $250, $500, $1000, $2,000 and $5000 entry fees per day are available to interested teams. The Optional Daily Jackpots are a winner-take-all format using the Tournament’s point scoring rules to determine daily winners. The Tournament’s minimum qualifying length of a marlin of 84 inches or a weight greater than 165 pounds applies to the Daily Jackpots as well (please see rule verification in the second paragraph). Verified release points and weighed fish points both count in determining the overall points of the winning team. Daily Jackpot prizes will roll forward and backward if there are no points scored on one or more days by a Daily Jackpot entrant. Example: If on the second day of fishing no qualifying fish are weighed, or released to claim one or more of the Daily Jackpots then the prize or prizes will roll forward to the third day and will be added to that days respective Daily Jackpot prizes. If the Daily Jackpot prizes are claimed on the first and second day of the Tournament but not the third day, the prizes will roll backward to the team which scored the most points on the first or second day. Optional Daily Jackpot prizes are based on entrant quotas. Should there be more or less entrants all prizes will be adjusted accordingly.
